2023 La Colina Pinot Noir
A well-known vineyard in the hills of Dundee called La Colina, “The Hill”. A very early harvest for this site, September 14th. The grapes were destemmed and cold soaked for 48 hours before being inoculated. After what seemed like the perfect fermentation the wine was pressed, settled, then put to bed in 50% new French oak barrels. The resulting wine has kitchen spice aromas like white pepper along with notes of black cherries and rich raspberry flavors. The pallet is soft and silky with a lasting finish.
"Spicy, toasty aromas open into a softly seductive wine with silky flavors of berries and chocolate. It’s definitely showing the impact of 50% new French oak, in which it rested for 21 months. That said it might need another year in bottle before it feels fully integrated. Nonetheless it drinks well already, especially if you are fond of those barrel flavors, lightly tipped with citrus." 92 Points - Paul Gregutt's NW Wine Guide
