2021 Pinot Gris
The 2021 Pinot Gris was made from two different vineyards. With 70% coming from the Estate Pinot Gris and the remaining from a vineyard located about 3 miles away. Harvested with great flavors and acidity, both vineyards were fermented separately for approximately 40 days using a couple of different yeast strains to produce the flavors and fragrances that are portrayed in the bottle. The aromas are citrusy with hints of tropical fruit. The palate has similar flavors along with a minerality note that leaves a nice clean, balanced finish.

"The plantings of the late Jim Witte live on in this bottling from A Blooming Hill Vineyard fruit by lontime Willamette Valley winemaker Jason Bull. Ruth and Skip Tarr recently took over the 20 year old site just south of Cornelius, Ore., and have relaunched the brand as Sidereus - Latin for stellar. Their site in the Chehalem mountains made up most of this bottling. It's a fun and balanced Pinot Gris that opens with aromas of jackfruit, rosewater, facial power and cotton seed. Those lead into flavors of lemon curd and honeydew melon as the barely perceptible drop of residudal sugar (0.6%) is handled by a finishing squirt of lime juice."
